On just getting out to vote …

On just getting out to vote …

I get it. Most people had this particular Tuesday on their calendar for years, especially when it feels like the election cycle never really ends.

So this small plea is for those who didn’t. For those who don’t, and for those who won’t. Don’t pass it up.

Just get out to vote.

Do it for all those moments you felt powerless, and wished there was something you could do.

Not to be grim, but it looks like there will be a lot of those moments in the near future. Be counted today. Being one of the people who stood up today and said “no” is not insignificant. It’s important.

There is always a reason to fight on. Get out there.

It’s not too late in Rhode Island.

If you need to find where to go, and your voting place, click here. Enter your zip code and your address. It will even give you a sample of your ballot.

In Rhode Island you can same-day register. So even if you haven’t registered, you can. The only caveat is that with same-day registration, you can only vote for President and Vice-President.

That’s not a bad deal. According to the Secretary of State, “ You can only register and vote on Election Day at the location designated by your local board of canvassers.” For a list of those, click here.

Don’t say you didn’t know how.
