It’s down to the wire, but there is still time to apply to the Rhode Island Pre-K Lottery.
It’s a free full-day program from the Rhode Island Department of Health.
The deadline is Wednesday, July 6, 2022, by 11:59 p.m.
To qualify, a child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2022.
To register go to: https://www3.ride.ri.gov/pklottery
What you need:
- Families will need an active email and a working telephone.
- A child’s legal name, date of birth, and address.
- The application will ask for the monthly household income, but RIDE says the program is not income dependent.

Before the application starts, parents need to agree to some of the fine print, like being responsible for transportation and understanding that a child may lose a seat if absent for 20 or more days for unexcused reasons.
The form has four steps.
